The plot tinkering possibly goes into overdrive on Harry Potter....
New pics have been released for the up-and-coming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and one of those pics has a book-plot enlightening or busting image in it. These pics are MASSIVE so they're behind an LJ cut. Naturally there's a spoiler for the final Harry Potter Book.

Here's the pic. You see Harry and McGonnigal and Harry is holding Dumbledore's wand. The ELDER WAND. (For those of you who wandered in here without reading Deathly Hallows the book's final battle hangs on who had possession of that wand after Dumbledore died.)

In the film, Dumbledore must be dead already because he probably lets no one touch his wand.  (Gellert Grindelwald notwithstanding :> )

I did a quick Google image check to make sure that the wand in question is Dumbledore's and it sure looks like it.

What's this mean? Well, if Harry - in this movie - is the one to actually remove the wand from Dumbledore after his death (or the one to pick it up after Snape does Expelliarmus), then the Elder wand is officially his. They can play around with "Who has the wand" to their heart's content in the Deathly Hallows movies because of this! HOWEVER.... if they forget this point... you know how movies can be.

I'll sign off with Luna wearing her Specterespecs. :D

Uh, as I recall, it's DRACO that performs Expelliarmus on the Astronomy Tower, and the Elder Wand is therefore "his" as this point. As Dumbledore painstakingly pointed out to Harry at King's Cross, it doesn't matter if someone else uses or holds the Elder Wand once "ownership" is transferred, the wand only recognizes a specific master (the one who defeated its current owner).

So if this is post DD-dive, even if Harry's examining it, he hasn't defeated its current owner and therefore his touching of the Elder Wand has no consequence.

BTW, love that Luna pic. Where's the Gryffindor Lion's hat?

(that's assuming that Draco makes his appearance on the Tower AS HE SHOULD).

Seriously. There are no excuses for Yates and company now, esp with a 2-part HALLOWS. They know exactly what they need and don't, and if they don't, they shouldn't be involved in the first place.

I'm expecting them to unleash their own creativity more than ever before, possibly to great detriment - but possibly good, too.

After all, too tell you the truth, I was a little unhappy with the ending of this epic series. Maybe they can spice it up a little.

It's been a while, and I didn't fervently reread DH as much as I did the previous six.
